The Brandywine Valley is convenient to two major international airports offering direct flights and connections to and from practically every locale throughout the United States and around the world. Both offer easy access to ground transportation, including rail, shuttle, taxi and rental cars, and are located on major interstate highways for easy access to your Valley destination. The Philadelphia International Airport recently completed a major renovation that has made it one of the most modern, attractive and accessible facilities in the country for both domestic and international flights. Located between Baltimore and Washington, Baltimore-Washington International Airport is also a modern facility designed for the convenience of the domestic and international traveler alike.
Philadelphia International - 10 minutes south of Philadelphia and 20 minutes north of Wilmington, Del. - is the major airline gateway to the Brandywine Valley, with direct flights and connections to virtually anywhere in the world provided by dozens of carriers. Rental cars, shuttle services and taxis are all readily available.
Although it's just over an hour away from the Brandywine Valley, several of the many regular carriers serving BWI offer substantially lower fares than to Philadelphia International. The savings may be worth the extra drive - it's a straight shot north on the Baltimore-Washington Parkway to I-95 and the Valley - so you may want to compare fares.
Although its runways and facilities can handle the largest jetliners - the Concorde once made a stop here - the New Castle County Airport has no regularly scheduled passenger service. However, it is a major facility for private and corporate aircraft, and shuttle and rental car service is readily available.
